Using AI for 'Boundary Condition' Testing

Instead of asking AI to produce typical examples, challenge it to generate scenarios at the extreme edges of a concept or situation. This helps you understand the limits and flexibility of your ideas. For instance, if you're designing a new customer service policy, instead of asking 'How would this policy work for typical customers?', you'd ask, 'Describe the worst-case scenario interaction with this policy,' or 'How would this policy handle a customer who intentionally tries to exploit it?' This explores the robustness of an idea by pushing it to its breaking point, rather than just validating its common use cases.

In plain terms

It's like stress-testing a bridge by simulating the heaviest possible load and worst weather, rather than just normal traffic.

Why it matters

This avoids developing brittle solutions that only work under ideal conditions, preparing you for unexpected challenges and making your plans more resilient.
