Moonshot AI Launches Kimi Work, a Local Desktop AI Agent
Moonshot AI introduced Kimi Work, a downloadable AI agent for macOS and Windows, designed to operate locally on a user's desktop. Announced the week of June 13, 2026, Kimi Work reportedly runs on the Kimi K2.6 model, a 300-sub-agent swarm that activates 32 billion parameters per token and boasts a 256K-token context window. It can read local files, drive the user's browser using WebBridge, and perform scheduled tasks via a built-in cron engine.
Why it matters
Kimi Work brings advanced AI agent capabilities directly to the user's machine, enabling automation of complex tasks by interacting with local files and real browser sessions, making AI more integrated into daily workflows.
