Microsoft Releases Fara1.5 Family of Computer Use Agent Models
Microsoft Research has launched the Fara1.5 family, comprising Fara1.5-4B, Fara1.5-9B, and Fara1.5-27B, which are computer use agent (CUA) models for web browsers. These models excel at complex web tasks like product comparison and form filling, outperforming prior models in their size class. Fara1.5-27B achieves a 72% task success rate on the Online-Mind2Web benchmark, closing the gap with proprietary models.
Fara1.5 models are a significant advancement for agentic small language models (SLMs), enabling more capable and practical deployment of AI agents that can interact with web interfaces. Their ability to handle complex, real-world browsing tasks makes proactive digital assistance more feasible for users.
