Microsoft Introduces MAI-Thinking-1, a New Reasoning Model
Microsoft AI has unveiled MAI-Thinking-1, a 35B-active, ~1T-total parameter sparse Mixture of Experts (MoE) model. This medium-sized reasoning model matches leading models on software engineering benchmarks and demonstrates advanced mathematical reasoning, achieving 94.5% on AIME 2026. Available in private preview, it supports a 256k token context window and function calling, designed for enterprise-grade security and compliance.
