Microsoft Introduces Fara1.5 Family of Computer Use Agent Models
Microsoft Research has unveiled the Fara1.5 family of computer use agent (CUA) models for browsers, including Fara1.5-4B, Fara1.5-9B, and Fara1.5-27B. These models are designed to complete complex browser tasks like product comparison and form filling, outperforming predecessors like Fara-7B and other models of similar sizes on benchmarks like Online-Mind2Web. Fara1.5 also utilizes synthetic domains in its training to handle gated-domain tasks requiring logins.
Fara1.5 advances the capabilities of small language models (SLMs) in computer use, making browser automation more robust and accessible. The availability of various model sizes allows for diverse deployment scenarios, from edge devices to cloud-hosted solutions.
