Meta AI Releases Muse Glimmer, an Open, On-Device Agentic Model
Meta AI Research has introduced Muse Glimmer, a 30-billion-parameter model optimized for running AI agents directly on personal devices like Macs or PCs with a single consumer GPU. Released with open weights under an Apache 2.0 license, Muse Glimmer is designed for local agent workflows, function calling, and local coding. It delivers strong performance on benchmarks for end-to-end agentic task completion, including debugging code and resolving multi-turn requests.
Users can now run powerful AI agents locally on their computers, offering enhanced privacy and control over data, and enabling new applications that don't require constant internet connectivity or cloud processing for AI tasks.
