Leveraging AI for 'Assumption-Testing' in Decision Making

Instead of asking AI to provide pros and cons for a decision, use it to explicitly test your underlying assumptions. For a small business owner considering a new product line, don't just ask 'Should I launch X?' Instead, list your key assumptions: 'Assume customers will pay $50. Assume manufacturing costs are $20. Assume marketing can reach 10,000 people.' Then ask the AI: 'What are the weakest links in these assumptions, and what counter-evidence or scenarios would invalidate them?' This proactive challenge helps identify hidden risks and biases in your initial thinking. The obvious approach confirms what you already suspect; this approach actively seeks to disprove it.

In plain terms

It's like having a tough friend who questions your ideas thoroughly, not just a supporter who agrees with everything.

Why it matters
