Kimi K3: A New Open Frontier Intelligence Model from Moonshot AI

Moonshot AI has introduced Kimi K3, a 2.8 trillion parameter Mixture-of-Experts (MoE) model with 104 billion activated parameters. This model features native vision capabilities and a 1-million-token context window. Kimi K3 builds on innovations like Kimi Delta Attention and Stable LatentMoE, which significantly improve scaling efficiency and information flow, showing a 2.5x improvement over its predecessor, Kimi K2. While it trails proprietary models like Claude Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol, Kimi K3 outperforms other open and proprietary models in its evaluated suite, and its full weights are being released to foster research and broader adoption.
