Claude in Chrome Enables Autonomous Actions on Open Pages

Anthropic has made Claude in Chrome generally available for all paid plans, allowing Claude to autonomously interact with web pages already open in the user's browser. This means Claude can perform actions like entering text, clicking links, navigating between pages, and filling out forms, all while maintaining the user's logged-in state. A built-in classifier reviews actions before they are taken to ensure they align with the user's request and safety protocols.

Why it matters

This empowers users to leverage Claude for in-the-moment tasks directly within their active browser sessions, such as quickly updating a CRM record or responding to emails in a web interface. It reduces manual effort for common web workflows by letting Claude perform actions where the user is already engaged.
