Claude Cowork Adds Built-in Isolated Browser
Anthropic has introduced a separate, built-in Chromium instance within the Claude Cowork desktop app. This allows Claude to browse the web in its own sandboxed side panel, completely isolated from the user's personal browser, ensuring privacy by not accessing user tabs, history, or saved passwords. This feature is rolling out to all paid plans, providing an independent browsing environment for tasks users want to fully hand off, like gathering research or filling out forms on vendor portals.
Users can now securely delegate web tasks to Claude for independent execution without exposing their personal browsing data. This is particularly useful for tasks that require focused web activity while the user continues other work, offering enhanced privacy and convenience for business operations.
