ChatGPT Can Now Send Texts for You with New Apple Messages Plugin
OpenAI has launched an Apple Messages plugin for ChatGPT, allowing users to connect their Messages inbox with the chatbot. This enables ChatGPT to sort, analyze, edit, draft, and send messages on your behalf, as well as search your message history directly from the AI. OpenAI states the plugin runs locally on the user's device and requires explicit user requests to read messages, along with Full Disk Access.
Why it matters
Marketers and small-business owners can now automate customer communication directly from ChatGPT, potentially streamlining responses and outreach. It allows for advanced message management and drafting without leaving the ChatGPT interface.
